Worthless creatures

Tuesday 26 March 2013

Once there lived a king in Varanasi. One day, he asked his cabinet of ministers, "Provide me the list of worthless creatures of my kingdom." All ministers started doing research and after one week told the king that wild bees and wild spiders were worthless creatures of the kingdom. The king said, "Then why are they living in my kingdom. Kill all wild bees and wild spiders."

On the same night, his kingdom was attacked by an enemy king. The king was defeated in the battle and he left the battle field saving his own life. While running, he entered into a forest. The announcement of killing all wild bees and spiders was not yet implemented, and hence he could still see many bees and spiders around. The king thought in his mind that he would implement the orders of killing them all, soon after recapturing his kingdom.

It became dark and the king became tired of running continuously. However, the soldiers of enemy were still searching for the king. Tired, the king sat under a tree and he did not realize when he fell asleep. While he was sleeping, a wild bee came and stung him. The king woke up and realized that the enemy soldiers had reached quite close searching for him.

He ran and entered inside a cave. After he entered inside, few wild spiders came and started making web at the mouth of cave. The enemy soldiers came near to cave searching for the king after sometime. However, by that time, the wild spiders had made thick web at the mouth of cave. The enemy soldiers thought the king could not enter in such a cave without disturbing the thick web at the mouth of cave, and moved ahead searching the king.

The king then thought, 'I was thinking of killing all wild bees and spiders from my kingdom, but today because of them only, I am still alive. I have understood that nature has given unique qualities to every creature and every creature has a right to live. Nobody is worthless if they can implement their own gifted unique qualities for the betterment of world.'

    2. True... the message can be taken as people understand it!! :) :) Everyone is unique and everyone has right to live.. Everyone has the potential to do something for betterment of own self and for the society and ultimately to the world... You and I are unique and still we are same..... We are unique bulbs clubbed in a group and each bulb needs to light up the same ground... somewhat confusing? :P
