One stone-cutter used to live on a daily wage. He always used to feel dissatisfied with his job and life. He used to feel that he was not having the best life that he deserved and had a dream that may he somehow get the power of fulfilling his desire. He always used to pray wishing his dream may come true. One day he felt that he got the power of fulfilling any desire. That evening while returning back home, he saw a tradesman. The tradesman was having all luxuries. He had many servants and lots of money. The stone-cutter thought, 'My whole life will only be wasted by cutting these stones and accumulating pennies on daily basis. It would be great if I become a tradesman like him with all luxuries.' All of a sudden, he got what he wished for. He became a tradesman, got a new home, servants and all luxuries.
One day, the Army-Chief of the kingdom was passing from near his home. A battalion of soldiers was accompanying him. He saw the Chief of Army and thought, 'He is so powerful and has so much impact. Everyone bows before him in respect in the kingdom. I would wish to become the Chief of Army.' Soon, he became the Army-Chief. Now, many soldiers accompanied him wherever he used to go. Everyone bowed in respect to him in the kingdom. During summers, one day he was travelling around the kingdom. The sun was blazing with full strength. He started feeling the heat and he looked at the sun with anger. But there was no impact on the sun and it kept on blazing brightly. He thought, 'This sun is even more powerful than me. There is no impact of my anger on the sun. I wish I become the sun.' Within few moments, he became the sun and started blazing in the sky.
Now, he felt extremely proud on himself. With the help of heat, he started burning the earth. Many forests caught fire because of intense heat. He was filled with ego and self pride by seeing his power. After few days, one small cloud came in between the sun and earth. The sun could not damage anything because of the cloud. Neither the sun could damage anything to the cloud. Now he thought, 'Oh! This small cloud is even more powerful than the sun. I wish to become a cloud.' Now he became a cloud.
He felt proud of himself. He started bringing powerful thunderstorms. Whenever he wished, he threw lightnings on earth. Many trees caught fire due to this. He was now feeling very proud. But something strange happened again. Wind came and took the cloud to far areas. He thought, 'This wind is even more powerful. I wish I become wind.' Puff, and he became the wind.
Again, he felt proud on his power. He brought strong storms all around the earth. Many structures and trees got uprooted from the ground. But again something messy happened. One powerful rock came in his way and stopped him from advancing any further. He tried a lot, but could not overpower the strength of that rock-stone. He now thought, 'This rock is even more powerful. I wish I become the rock.' Well, you must have guessed!!!! Right, he became one strong rock-stone.
He was standing tall and was again feeling proud of his strength. But this too did not last too long. After few days, a stone-cutter came and started cutting the rock. He became puzzled to see it and started thinking, 'Oh! What stupid wishes I had. This stone cutter is more powerful. I was also once a stone cutter and I unnecessarily started running after my mind and fulfilling its false wishes.' Suddenly he woke up from his sleep and realized that he was still a stone-cutter and it was only a dream. But, now he was content and happy with his life.
