Tiger and the Elephant

Monday 26 January 2015

Once there lived a tiger in forest. One day he was in a very bad mood. While roaming around the forest, he saw a rabbit. He captured the rabbit in his paws and said, "I am going to kill you today. You will be my food." The rabbit thought a little and said, "Respectable Tiger, you are the king of forest. It does not look good that you kill a small animal like me to eat. Being the king, you can eat any animal of this forest." Hearing that he is the king, the tiger felt a little better. He left the rabbit and moved ahead.

A little ahead, he saw a deer. He immediately caught the deer and asked, "Hey deer! Tell me, who is the king of forest?" The deer fearing for his life replied, "You... You are the king here." The mood of tiger got a little better after hearing this. He left the deer and moved ahead with smile. Now he saw a wild buffalo. He went near buffalo and roared, "Hey buffalo! Who is the king here in forest?" Buffalo became scared and replied, "You, Mr. Tiger!!! You are the king."

Now the tiger was filled with pride. A little ahead, he saw an elephant. Since he was now filled with so much false pride, he did not even hesitate a little before going near to the elephant. With a haughty attitude, he roared towards elephant, "Hey you! Who is the king of forest here?" The elephant said nothing. He simply carried the tiger through his trunk and dumped him hard at the ground. The tiger got wounded and with much difficulty stood and said, "Oh Elephant! Why are you getting angry? If you don't know that I am the king of this forest, then also its fine with me."
