A man's favorite donkey once fell into a deep trench. The man saw and realized it to be too deep. He thought as he would not be able to pull his donkey out, therefore, he decided to bury it alive.

Reason For Cycling

Once five disciples were cycling from home to the ashram. On reaching ashram, the monk asked them the reason for cycling.

One day, a monk came to Shri Gautam Swami and asked him, "O great Swami! I have a question. You live amongst so many enemies, still how you keep yourself calm? How would you conquer your enemies?"

Overcoming Problem of Pebble

Once there lived a merchant who had borrowed huge sum of money from a lender. He used to pay all the installments regularly. However, due to recession in market, his business slowed down and he missed paying the installments for a couple of months. The lender came to the merchant's house for collecting the installments. The merchant asked if he could be provided moratorium for some months due to recession. The lender however did not agree. On repeated requests, the lender said that he would waive off entire loan if he could marry the merchant's daughter.

The Tiger and the Monk

A monk and his student were walking from one village to another, when all of a sudden, they heard a roar behind them. They turned their head in the direction of the roar, they saw a big tiger following them. The student was horrified, and the first thing he wanted to do was to run away, but since he has been studying and practicing self-discipline, he was able to stop himself from running, and waited for his master instructions.

Money Order of Son

"O Mother, here is the money order of your son." The postman gave a thousand rupees to the old woman. The old woman took her glasses off and looked at the postman. With shining smile, she said, "O Postman, please call my son. I want to talk to him for a minute." The postman tried to avoid and said, "Please do not ask me this every time while receiving the money order. I do not have so much time and have to deliver many posts to others."

Brain of Farmer

Once, three engineers were trying to put a wire through a distorted pipe. A farmer was observing them trying to do this. Three days passed but the engineers were not able to do it. The farmer came near the engineers and said, "Sir, if you don't mind, can I help?" The engineers looked at the farmer. He looked quite poor. One of the engineer said, "We are technically so knowledgeable and still are unable to do it from past three days. How would you do it? It seems that you also do not have any technical knowledge or skills."

The Biggest Sinner

Once there lived a kindhearted king. He used to do a lot of charity. One day he organized for a feast of the poor people in kingdom. Hundreds of people gathered in feast. The cook mistakenly forgot to put the cap on the drum of cooked vegetable. A snake came inside kitchen from the window, and entered the drum of vegetable. As it was hot, the snake sensed danger and spew venom on the vegetable, and came out of drum. The guards saw the snake and threw it outside the palace.

Decision Making of Ass

A hungry ass finds himself between two equally large and delicious-looking bales of hay.

He looks from one to the other and back again, unsure which to choose.

This goes on for a long while until, unable to make a decision, the poor old donkey dies of starvation.

Once there lived a rich businessman, named Anami in Ahmedabad. He used to do a lot of charity. Due to this, he started feeling ego inside. He used to feel superior while doing charity.

Once upon a time a daughter complained to her father that her life was miserable and that she didn’t know how she was going to make it. She was tired of fighting and struggling all the time. It seemed just as one problem was solved, another one followed.

Weight of Love

A hermit was climbing Himalayan mountain with baggage on his head. He saw a small boy climbing the mountain with his sister on his head. His sister was quite fat and the boy was quite young. Seeing the boy carrying the heavy load of his sister, the hermit sympathetically said, "You must be tired kid. You are carrying so much load on your head while climbing." The boy was astonished listening this and said, "What are you saying this sir! I am carrying my young sister. You are carrying the load of baggage on your head. She is my sister not any load."

Worthy of Worship

In ancient kingdom of Mithila, a person named Shyam used to do a lot of religious and social activities. He used to worship various angels, prophets, demigods and goddesses. With his power of worshipping, all the angels, demigods etc. used to appear in front of him whenever he wished. One day, he got extremely sick and was not able to even move. He remembered that he could pray for any powerful deity or angel and can get cured. So he started praying for them.

Help of A Rupee

Once Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar was going through Calcutta market. A teenage boy came near to him and started begging for a paisa. The clothes he was wearing, were torn at many places and one could easily identify him to be extremely poor. Ishwar Chandra looked at him and asked, "What will you do with one paisa?" The boy said, "I will buy food to eat." Ishwar Chandra asked, "Then how will you eat tomorrow?" The boy said, "I would beg a paisa from someone tomorrow."

Butter and Bread

There was a milkman who used to sell butter to bakers. One of the bakers used to buy a pound of butter from him. One day, he thought to check if he was getting the amount of butter correctly or not. On weighing, he found that the butter weighed less than a pound. He became angry and took the milkman to the king's court.

Rock of Path

In ancient times, a king ordered his men to place a huge rock on the main road of city. He then hid in the bushes and saw if anyone would try to move that rock away. However, nobody tried to move the rock away. Instead, many people blamed the king for not keeping the roads clear. Some of the king's wealthiest merchants simply walked around the rock. Disheartened to see all this, the king returned to royal palace.
