Pickpocket and the Mother

Sunday, 10 February 2013

There lived a man in city. He used to earn money and regularly send few hundred rupees to his mother in village. It just happened one day that he lost his job. While he was returning back to his home feeling gloomy, some pickpocket took away his purse. He had one hundred fifty and a letter for his mother in the purse. In his letter, he had written, "Mom, I have lost my job. I would not be able to send money as of now. I am sorry, mom!!!"

But now he had lost even that letter and his money. He became extremely sad. After few days, he received a letter from postman. He opened the letter. It was from his mother. He was feeling very scared to read it. However, he accumulated the courage and started reading the letter. It was written, "Dear son, I have received your money-order of five hundred rupees. You are so nice and always send the money regularly without any delay." The man got confused. He was not able to understand how his mother received money-order and who sent it.

After few days, he received another letter. He opened the letter. The handwriting of the letter was so poor that he had to try several times to read it properly. It was written, "Brother, 150 rupees of yours, along-with 350 rupees from my side have been sent to your mother. You please do not worry about it. Because heart of every mother is same. Why should she sleep hungry!! With lots of respect to the mother - Your pickpocket brother."

  1. Sometimes people do things out of their bad circumstances. I believe that we should not divide people into black and white category. All of us are gray shade characters.
