Long time ago, many frogs used to live in a pond. In the middle of pond, there was a metallic pole built by the king of that nation. It was a tall pole with very smooth surface. One day, the frogs decided that they would arrange for a competition in which the participant frog would try to reach to the top of the pole. The frog who would reach to the top first would be declared as winner and would be rewarded.
The posters were pasted everywhere around the pond for this competition. Finally, the day of competition came. The frogs from nearby ponds also came to participate in this competition. All the participant frogs gathered near the pole. With a lot of enthusiasm, all those frogs started trying to reach to the top of pole.
The atmosphere was filled with thrill and excitement. All the spectator frogs were cheering. But after few minutes, all the frogs started losing hope that any frog can reach to the top of the pole. Different type of negative comments could be heard now. 'Oh, This is so difficult!...They can never complete it...No frog can climb such a smooth tall pole...' And this was exactly happening there.
About three-four frogs were still trying. But none of them were even able to cover up half of the length of pole. They were consistently falling down. The voices of the crowd could be heard clearly now, 'Impossible!!..This can not be achieved..' Now, all the participant frogs, except one little frog, lost their confidence and gave up their hope of winning the competition.
The little frog, however, kept on trying. It seemed that none of the negative voices was able to bring down his confidence and enthusiasm. Even after falling again and again, he was getting nearer to the pole's top on every attempt and ultimately reached to the top. Seeing such a little frog winning, everyone was amazed.
All the frogs gathered around the little frog and started asking questions - "How did you do that?", "This was so difficult that it seemed impossible for those frogs. You are so small, how you managed to win?" Suddenly, the parents of that little frog came and said, "Why are you asking questions to him? He can not hear you. He is deaf."
