Importance of Name

Long time ago, there lived a boy. His parents had named him as 'Sinner'. When the boy grew up, he came to know the meaning of his name. He felt quite embarrassed with his own name and even started disliking himself because of it.

The Ditch between Brothers

Two brothers used to do farming together. They had lots of respect and love for each other. After being together for about forty years, they separated after having a quarrel due to some misunderstandings. Few days later, they started fighting on another issue and decided they would not look at each other in future. They divided all the assets among themselves and started living at extreme ends of their farm. This enmity kept on growing with time and the younger brother dug a ditch in the middle of the farmland.

Owl and Sun

There lived a group of owls in a forest. Among them, there was a baby owl who was fond of exploring new things. He used to fly to distant lands quite often in search of new and exciting places. His parents were quite worried of the baby owl's habit of flying to distant places. Many times they instructed and even at times scolded the baby owl to refrain from flying to distant places. But the baby owl could not resist his temptation to explore new places and often used to fly to distant places.

Elixir Stone and Iron Merchant

Once there lived an iron merchant. He used to trade through import and export of raw iron and finished goods. On a lovely morning, a sage knocked at door of his house. The merchant happily welcomed him and provided him tasty delicacies to eat. The sage got impressed with such a courteous behaviour. While leaving, the sage said, "I am very happy with your courteous behaviour and respect you have shown to me. I want to give a souvenir in return. You can use it as you wish but I will come back after a month and will take back my souvenir." Saying this, he took out an elixir stone (generally believed to turn iron to gold) and handed over to the merchant.

The Most Important Finger

All five fingers of a hand started debating. Each of them thought that only it was the most important finger of hand. They were trying to prove their worth and show their importance. The thumb said, "I am most important. Without me none other fingers can do anything worthy." The finger next to it disagreed and said that it was most important; and the debate continued with every finger disagreeing to other fingers' comments and giving own justifications.

The Beggar: Lion or Fox

A beggar was collecting wooden logs from a forest for cooking his food. Suddenly, he saw something amazing. A fox was lying at some distance who had lost all his limbs. The beggar thought, 'This is so strange. How has he managed to survive in such a condition!! Besides, he seems to be completely healthy.' He was lost in his thoughts when a lion started coming near to fox. Coming back to his senses, the beggar quickly climbed on a high branch of a tree. The lion had hunted down a deer and was carrying it in his jaws. He went closer to the fox. Instead of attacking, the lion offered a piece of deer's meat to the fox.

The Mother Cow

There was a kingdom named Mayapur in India. It was famous that the chief minister named Hoshiyar Singh of that kingdom was very clever. People from far across lands came to seek solution to their problems. Once a farmer named Tukaram came in the court. He had two cows with him. On entering the royal courtyard, he presented his problem to the minister. He said, "Respected royal minister, I have this problem that I have two cows with me. But it is not known that who is the mother and who is the daughter among them."

Once upon a time, there lived a rich man. He was unusually fond of keeping reptiles in his home. He had kept many reptiles such as crocodiles, alligators, snakes etc. in his swimming pool. When her daughter attained the marriageable age, he decided to give a grand party and invited many people. Many people came to the party.
