Once the great Greek philosopher, Socrates, was busy in conversation with his followers. During that time, a wandering astrologer arrived there. He announced in front of Socrates and his followers that he could tell about any person by seeing his/her face. Though Socrates was a great philosopher, he was not so good-looking. But people admired him because of his beautiful thoughts and views. Socrates listened to his announcement very patiently and asked the astrologer if he could tell about him.

Once there lived a spiritually awakened king in Mithila kingdom of India. Though he had lots of wealth and power, he always remained away from getting indulged in their misuse. Once a sage came to meet him. The king welcomed him and asked the reason for arrival to royal court. The sage said, "O Great King! I have heard that even though you are living in this big palace in midst of all luxuries and comforts, you do not get carried away in getting indulged in them. I did so much meditation in Himalayas. I also visited pilgrimages. But, I am not yet able to conquer my desires. How you achieved this perfection even after living inside the palace?"

There lived a man in city. He used to earn money and regularly send few hundred rupees to his mother in village. It just happened one day that he lost his job. While he was returning back to his home feeling gloomy, some pickpocket took away his purse. He had one hundred fifty and a letter for his mother in the purse. In his letter, he had written, "Mom, I have lost my job. I would not be able to send money as of now. I am sorry, mom!!!"

One day, it started raining heavily and ultimately took the form of flood. Everyone started running to save their lives. However, the old lady was too weak and was unable to run. She went under a tree and started praying, "Oh God, Save me!!"

She always used to greet her customers happily. Due to this, her customers always used to come to her shop for buying honey. Once, a wedge of swans was flying through seashore. A crow was also enjoying himself there. He looked at the swans and said with an intention of insulting the swans, "All of you fly so nicely. What else you all can do except flapping your wings and flying!!! Can you also do stunts in air like me?? No, because you only know of flying in a simple manner, nothing else!!"
