Swami Vivekananda was on the tour of USA. He was extremely popular there due to his impressive speeches. Due to his immense popularity, one woman approached him and expressed her desire to marry. Swami Vivekananda asked her the reason for such a desire.

Socrates and the Astrologer

Once the great Greek philosopher, Socrates, was busy in conversation with his followers. During that time, a wandering astrologer arrived there. He announced in front of Socrates and his followers that he could tell about any person by seeing his/her face. Though Socrates was a great philosopher, he was not so good-looking. But people admired him because of his beautiful thoughts and views. Socrates listened to his announcement very patiently and asked the astrologer if he could tell about him.

King and his lamp

Once there lived a spiritually awakened king in Mithila kingdom of India. Though he had lots of wealth and power, he always remained away from getting indulged in their misuse. Once a sage came to meet him. The king welcomed him and asked the reason for arrival to royal court. The sage said, "O Great King! I have heard that even though you are living in this big palace in midst of all luxuries and comforts, you do not get carried away in getting indulged in them. I did so much meditation in Himalayas. I also visited pilgrimages. But, I am not yet able to conquer my desires. How you achieved this perfection even after living inside the palace?"

Buddha and the Angry Man

Once Gautam Buddha was travelling from a village. Everyone was happy to see him and heard his speeches with lots of dedication. However, one young man was not at all happy to see him in the village. He believed Buddha to be a fake master fooling the masses.

The pot with many holes

Once there lived a saint in village. He always used to recite the name of God and focus within his heart enjoying the bliss of life. He always used to guide everyone to live righteously, and attain the peace within. The message of the saint was so powerful that people from distant lands started coming to hear his speeches.

Pickpocket and the Mother

There lived a man in city. He used to earn money and regularly send few hundred rupees to his mother in village. It just happened one day that he lost his job. While he was returning back to his home feeling gloomy, some pickpocket took away his purse. He had one hundred fifty and a letter for his mother in the purse. In his letter, he had written, "Mom, I have lost my job. I would not be able to send money as of now. I am sorry, mom!!!"

Oh God, Save me!!

Once there lived an old lady in a village. She had immense faith on God. All villagers used to respect her a lot. She always used to pray to God. One day, it started raining heavily and ultimately took the form of flood. Everyone started running to save their lives. However, the old lady was too weak and was unable to run. She went under a tree and started praying, "Oh God, Save me!!"

The Shoes and The Stones

Once there lived an autocratic king. One day the king went for sight seeing. On the way, one wheel of the chariot was dislodged and the king had to walk back to palace. While he was returning, a sharp stone pierced his leg and he screamed painfully. All the ministers who were accompanying the king, supported him to return to palace. On reaching the palace, the king thought of a decision in his mind.

Two shopkeepers of honey

Once upon a time, there lived a lady who was in the profession of selling honey. Her attitude of speaking towards her customers was very nice. Her shop always remained filled with people. She always used to greet her customers happily. Due to this, her customers always used to come to her shop for buying honey. Her customers were also her brand ambassadors, and her popularity was continuously increasing with each passing day.

The Haughty Crow

Once, a wedge of swans was flying through seashore. A crow was also enjoying himself there. He looked at the swans and said with an intention of insulting the swans, "All of you fly so nicely. What else you all can do except flapping your wings and flying!!! Can you also do stunts in air like me?? No, because you only know of flying in a simple manner, nothing else!!"
